2023 Thanksgiving menu
If you’re feeling like Thanksgiving has snuck up quickly this year, you’re not alone. I have just barely began putting together a menu of sorts for the big day. As per usual, I’ll be hosting Thanksgiving at my apartment with my sister, husband and Peanut, and it’s always my favorite. After walking over to watch the parade on Central Park West Thanksgiving morning, my sister and I will come back to slowly start cooking. We always have plenty for leftovers, which are kind of the best. Here is the tentative plan this year, in case you need some side dish inspiration.
Kale salad with apples and cheddar
Mashed sweet potatoes with honey
Roasted brussels sprouts with lemon, parmesan and breadcrumbs
We are of course roasting a turkey and including some packaged stuffing. For dessert, I ordered a “Scarlett pie” from Whole Foods, which is basically a pie with pear, fig, apple and cranberry with a sort of crumble on top.
This is all I’ve got this week as it’s a particularly busy one - I’m hosting a virtual cooking class for my fellow hospital employees on Thursday, and am at Juilliard on Saturday for our dancer nutrition sessions. I’ll probably pause posting next week to prep for the holiday, so I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks for reading!
