Nutrition/wellness: holiday gift guide for active folks

I will shamelessly admit that gifts are one of my love languages (both giving and receiving them), and I love myself a gift guide, so thought I’d take a break from all things nutrition content to share some of my favorite ideas. First up, gifts for the active person in your life (or yourself, because you deserve it too).*

OUAI leave in conditioner and super dry shampoo
I can’t for the life of me pronounce the name of this brand but am obsessed - the products smell amazing and work wonders for my hair. I wash my hair on most days, which I know you’re not supposed to do, but the leave in conditioner helps keep it soft and moisturized. The dry shampoo is excellent for those in between days, or when you just have time to blow dry your post-run sweaty hair and still want to feel cute and put together.

Smartwool thermal neck gaiter
I first got into Smartwool when I worked at a running store during my dietetic internship (RIP Jack Rabbit Upper East Side), and am pretty sure the wool neck gaiter I wear on chilly runs all the time is from back when I worked there 10+ years ago (still in great shape!).

Orgain collagen powder
There is *some* research on the benefits of collagen when it comes to injury prevention and healing in runners, which is enough for me to include it on the daily and recommend it to a lot of my athlete clients. I usually add it to my oatmeal for a protein boost, and this brand is the most affordable of the popular ones out there.
