I recently listened to a podcast in which the guest was an aesthetician who also called herself a “nutritional gut health expert.” She spoke of eating an almost all meat diet, and having very few bowel movements because her body was “absorbing all of the nutrients.” She went on to say that avoiding seed oils helped her avoid getting sunburned when in the sun without SPF (which she discouraged using).
Oh my goodness! All the crazy information drives me crazy too ( I am also a dietitian) !. It is a bummer that the crazier the claim, the more attention it gets, and more balanced and research-based approaches don't get quite the traction. Thanks for writing this!
